Hi, I’m Maria Buhay-Lim

Somewhat recently, I looked in the mirror and realized I'm not getting any younger. I love my mother, Erlinda, but if I'm lucky enough to reach her current age of 81, I’d like to be more active, with more energy, a little younger-looking and healthier. But since exercise is a little too exhausting for me, I’ve focused on the nutrition side of health. And after some thorough investigation, learning all about nutrition, I’ve produced my very own wellness program, combining what worked best for me with reliable studies from respected experts.

But before I tell you more about it, I’d like to share with you my personal motivations.

I suffered from Pica in my childhood, which I'm sure messed up my gut.  I won't say too much about it:  you'd be quite grossed out if I described the things I have eaten. But all throughout my life, I've had episodes of indigestion, constipation, diarrhea, bloating, gas, and abdominal pain.  I diagnosed myself with IBS and my doctors agreed, though they never really ordered any diagnostic testing.

I struggled with my weight in my late thirties.  My son is now 19 years old and people still think I am pregnant. They ask me "how many weeks am I in my pregnancy?" Or "when is the baby due?" I tried diet after diet - on the search for the magic bullet that would finally work! I tried eating less, counting calories, exercising more, and harder. I did Atkins Diet, Cabbage Soup Diet, and meal replacement shakes. You name it, I tried it! I even gave up eating rice and I grew up with it as our staple food. The last diet I tried was with the use of a weight loss coffee. It helped me lose weight but I didn’t get to my ultimate desired weight. I wound up plateauing, stuck some distance away from my goal.
Each time I went on a new diet, I got excited because I thought “this time will be different.” And things would start off positive in that I lost weight.  And I had that amazing feeling of having my clothes get too big and picking out new, smaller clothes that I felt great in.  But all the while I was suffering on these diets.  I was hungry and deprived.  I was grumpy!  Maybe you can relate and know-how defeating this is.

But that’s not the worst part.


The worst part is that when I went off each diet, I’d continue eating healthy but I gave myself more wiggle room with what I ate and how much. And that’s when the weight came back on… every_single_ time!  Maybe you can relate and know how defeating this is.   You think you are eating healthy, and doing exercises but the weight still accumulates. 

My low point was a few months after the last restrictive diet I followed… when I realized that I had gained all the weight back and THEN some. 

That’s when I decided that something needed to change. 

So enough fasting and starving… I needed a true jumpstart!

That’s when I began to look into nutrition, I made an effort to review and study the real science about food and nutrition and learn why I was struggling for so many years - and I learned how to heal my metabolism so I could not only lose the weight but keep it off for good.


I finally felt freedom with food and my body, and I learned how to eat and take care of myself that felt nurturing, rather than punishment.

Which led me to some pretty incredible results….

My husband and I were very pleased!  I lost 5 lbs and my husband lost 7 lbs in just 1 week following the program and we continued to lose weight and kept it off as we continue eating healthy.  I didn’t experience any IBS symptoms either. Additionally, I saw clear improvements in my skin:  fresh, rejuvenated, and no longer itchy.  My migraines went away, and other aches in my body disappeared.
